Inspired by antique daguerreotypes, I painted quirky bird portraits
on "upcycled" denim for a rustic Americana feel. The denim is mounted to
cedar fence board scraps that I 'reclaimed' from a neighbor.
The vintage beer cans came from an estate sale of an avid breweriana collector
(who I can only hope is not rolling in his grave!)
Each bottle cap has been pounded flat by hand, burned in the fire
and sanded for just the right patina.

Very nice! Real creative use of "upcycled" materials. Quirky mixed media, I especially love the use of the old beer cans (although I hope no beer can collectors see this--it might trouble them!).
